Whitlock displays penis....envy in latest column

I reveal this as a happily married man of 18 years.

I saw Michael Jordan in the visitors' clubhouse when he played for the Double-A Birmingham Barons.

I've seen a lot of amazing things in my career. And that was one of them.

Maybe I should have written a column about it.

I guess I finally know what "working his corners" means.

 

Is this real or a joke?

 

I didn't find it particularly entertaining ... just strange, from Whitlock's take to the writer whose life was ruined because he didn't, uh, measure up.

I know it's the Internet, but why devote an entire column to athlete dong? There's got to be something else to write about.

 

It's an entertaining read on a topic that went viral in the last 48 hours.

I'd wager that a majority of people on this board would think it was a good column had it been written by someone other than Whitlock.

 

Since we're into girl talk, Johnny Damon's is remarkably small.

 

I suspect that the female columnists are more unnerved by Terence Cody at this point.

Clearly it's been a strange couple of photo days.

 

I don't think that's true. I think that people would find it just as juvenile.

 

I would find it entertaining if someone like Roger Angell wrote it.

 

You have a point there. If George Will broke this one out, I might feel differently about it.

 

That's the worst thing I've read about dongs ever.

Even if I read it in the proper spirit -- it's a column about locker room dicks, ha ha -- it trails off into nonsense by even that standard about midway through. It read like someone's syphilitic fever dream.

That said, I mean, he's right, anyone who's covered the NBA can attest to the super-size pants goblins sometimes seen in the locker room. It's kind of like a ghost sighting ... you see it out of the corner of your eye and that WTFF feeling washes over you.
