    I loved the Ben Stone/Detective Logan days of L&O.

    Never thought of it that way, but it certainly seems The Simpsons is following the same philosophy. But that might not be a bad idea...while the newer ones are not as consistently brilliant as the older ones, the show's audience, has presumably, decreased over the years. So syndication is a good way to re-introduce recent episodes to the fans. I know I've seen a lot of recent episodes for the first time in syndication.
