    That's not what has sunk them. Two other things have....

    The Chandlers' concealed sweetheart tax deals, and the corrupt motherfuckers on Long Island

    I'm not terribly informed on all this stuff...would selling the Cubs help the company quite a bit, or is it a drop in the bucket? Or are the Cubs more profitable than any newspaper?

    It makes me sick to think of all these layoffs while the Trib still owns a ballclub with overpaid stiffs.

    The Cubs are rather profitable, despite how pathetic the team is on the field. The Tribune isn't going to cast off a profitable enterprise when its TV stations, especially, are losing $$ hand over fist.
