White trash

Only because I used to work there and he'd come into our office from time-to-time.

We didn't hang out or anything, though until now, I was always confused by his repeated testimonials for Rubbermaid products.

Oh my goodness. Is she not wearing shorts and/or underwear? Yuck. Between the generic brand cheetos and the other, uh, area, I hope the photographer was wearing one of those hazmat suits.

"White trash" is a racist term, if you break it down, and I never let it get into print.

If you qualify "trash" by saying it's "white trash," then, ergo, you are implying that regular trash is not white -- or that all trash is assumed to be non-white unless you say "white trash" -- and that's where the trouble starts. Instructed to me a great copy editor long ago, and I understood it immediately because he was a minority and took offense when he saw it used.

And I totally agree. Trash is trash. And so white trash ain't any better than any other trash, is it?

Lighten up, Francis. It was a play on words based on the picture.

 

The guy appears to be white. He's in the trash.
