    Its a great day for white defenisve backs.Roger Wehrli will be inducted into the Pro Football HOF.

    Actually, during the press conferences, Wehrli's fellow inductee Charlie Sanders of the Lions said when teams of their shared era prepared to face the Cardinals, they couldn't wait to go right at Wehrli because he was a honky cornerback. Note: That's a paraphrase on my part.

    Boom ... do you remember back when scouts didn't even want white cornerbacks to run the 40 at NFL combines?

    They have indeed come a long way.

    Yes I do. I think it all started after John Dockery was burnt by Otis Taylor on a fall Sunday way back when. Slight white men were relegated to roll of kickers and punt snappers.

    Of course, you'll know we've come a long way when Roger Wehrli's induction isn't even considered reason for celebration.

    I think that's the way that works.
