Which state do you think of when you think of pine trees?

    The answer, of course, is onions. Er, Georgia.

    you're right, an evergreen is a pine. i was wrong.

    (though I was just coming back to change my answer to montana, fwiw. think oregon's got more per square mile, maybe, but montana's got size going for it.)

    Come on, people. North Carolina. Anyone else ever been to Pinehurst? Southern Pines? Even a golf course called Pine Needles. And a great view from the press box at the old North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham -- nothing but pine trees in every direction, as far as the eye could see.

    I've been outside of the East Coast twice. I don't think I've ever seen a pine tree.

    There is an area of New Jersey known as the Pine Barrens
