    I would have to think introducing Ron Zook as your next coach would be a tough sell for any AD.

    I think you might be construing the "previously successful" requirement a bit broadly with those two choices. One successful season does not a succesful coach make, especially when surrounded by hideous ones.

    Agreed and Willingham also.

    I have heard Willingham is "retired".

    John L Smith did pretty damn well at Louisville, not so much at Michigan State.
    Hasn't sniffed a head coaching job since.
