"X American troops died today in Iraq when a suicide bomber..."/"Today was the bloodiest day yet for American troops in Iraq..." (just get the troops out of there and let the Iraqi people and the insurgents fight it out for control)

 

If this thread were to go on for about 300 pages, there are some people I know who would be unable to speak if you banned the use of everything that would end up on here.

 

How about the quite redundant "by the score of?" Come on, if you say the Red Sox beat the Yankees, 7-6, why on earth do you need by the score of? It's understood. But I know of no broadcaster who doesn't say it.
