    In addition to everything mentioned so far, there's:

    "The hidden dangers lurking in your home/food/water/store next on Action News/Eyewitness News/whatever the hell your local news broadcast calls itself"

    "X American troops died today in Iraq when a suicide bomber..."/"Today was the bloodiest day yet for American troops in Iraq..." (just get the troops out of there and let the Iraqi people and the insurgents fight it out for control)

    How about the quite redundant "by the score of?" Come on, if you say the Red Sox beat the Yankees, 7-6, why on earth do you need by the score of? It's understood. But I know of no broadcaster who doesn't say it.
