No, but Dungy may walk away on his own. Didn't that almost happen last year?

That's why I didn't put him under possible. He may decide to leave on his own. He may not.

The only thing we can say with certainty is that the Colts won't fire Dungy.

Irsay talked him into coming back this season. If he wins another Super Bowl he's a guaranteed goner, but if he doesn't I still say there's a 75 percent chance he's gone. I think there's already a succession plan in place with assistant coach Jim Caldwell.

You'd be wrong with that assumption. Despite the record on the field, people do want this job, especially the GM gig.
Look at it this way, the owners have shown a willingness to spend money and stay out of the way and the Lions have a lot of high draft picks.

Potential GMs or coaches start thinking if they can turn around this team, they would be wanted anywhere. And a decent GM like Scott Pioli (instead of idiot Millen) might be able to do that. It'd be a risk, but the reward would be high.

I agree with that, of course. And I do think he will be gone.

Just relaying what I read that it could be a possibility. Remember it is the Lions, the king of stupid decisions.

Any chance Cowher comes back to coach any of these teams?

My guess is he is biding his time to see if any really good jobs come open. If he sends out the word he's interested in returning to the sidelines, he will pretty much have his pick.

I forgot San Diego off the initial list. They should be looking as well...

I'm guessing if Cowher comes back it will be KC. Maybe San Diego.

I would be surprised to see Cowher go to a West Coast team. Cleveland could be in the mix, too.

Cleveland, Cincy, Buffalo, Washington and Philly all conceivably could come open, as well as Detroit.

If Cowher wants to stay in the region, he could have a lot of options.

Cowher will not take Cleveland job.

I'm not sure Ralph Wilson pays what it would take to get Cowher to Buffalo, despite some Bills fans' wishful thinking.
