Savannah isn't a bad choice is just big enough to cover in a few days. You could also try Nashville--flights for $200. Don't know why, but being from New England, meh. We got the same leaves as everyone else. But if you have only a few days and want Europe, go to Montreal. Its awesome. I go about once a year. There is so much to do: shopping, museums, casino, waterfront...And the restaurants are great too.

I suppose you could also do Toronto, but never been.

Attend a college football game in a place with some history and/or a good matchup.

Or Vegas. It's ALWAYS an option.

Cadiz, Spain. It juts out into the Atlantic- an ancient port, built and rebuilt since antiquity. Columbus launched his ships from there. People once thought it was the end of the world. It still feels like the end of the world. It's surrounded by sea and rocks. It's quintessentially Spanish in its mix of civilization and rusticity.

It's easy to drink sangria there and eat grilled fish. I'd get a room near the cathedral and use Cadiz as my base. From there, through the grape-growing region around Jerez de la Frontera and then by boat from Algeciras to Tangier. From Tangier, east and into the interior, toward the Rif, the mountains where the Berbers once proclaimed an independent republic. In Chefchaouen,

the streets are quiet and the town still uses the blue wash favored by Jewish refugees from Spain, even though the Jews have almost entirely gone, refugees once again. If I wanted to, I could go with a guide into the mountains, or I could go on a mint tea-fueled tour of the medina. After a week or so, back to Spain- maybe by way of Ceuta or Melilla- Spanish enclaves along the African coast. Maybe by way of Gibraltar, to hear English spoken and get a cool pint of beer. Anyway, back to Cadiz. Then, start figuring out how to get a work permit.

No better city to have no self-control than Vegas, as long as you leave the credit cards at home. If you've never been, you gotta go once.

If I had just four days, but had 3K to blow, I'd do some driving for two days where I'd never been before, even if it were just to see the countryside and some sweet little small towns along the way. Then I'd find the closest spa/hotel to home (so there wouldn't be a long drive home) and spoil the heck out of myself for the last two days with every possible service I could afford.
