With a handle like "Wild Billy" I figured you would have Greatings at top of your list.

Greetings isn't going to be anyone's favorite Bruce album, Boom.

Nebraska. Hah! You know you can get therapy for that.

  6. I'd take you more seriously if you hadn't wrecked Eddie And The Cruisers with your pretentious Rimbaud bullshit.

  7. Boom,

Greetings would rank higher on my list, but Mary Queen of Arkansas knocks it back a few pegs.

The production on Springsteen's first two albums leaves loads to be desired, that's what knock them down for me, even with terrific songs on both.

f*ck the production, look at the songs. There's no way an album with a side 2 like WIESS can be knocked down due to production.
If you want to talk about questionable production, the last two band albums with O'Brien have been over-produced... bring the band in a few a time and lots of overdubs - the heck with that, just get the band into the studio all at once and let 'em rip, then if you want to fine-tune it later go-ahead. Just don't bring three band members with Bruce into the studio to lay down the basic tracks, then the rest of the band one at a time to record their parts and then mix it all together like they have been doing.
