Where do the Yankees this decade rank on a list of all-time busts?

2001: Mariano Rivera puts his foot up his own ass, gives up a big hit to one A. Darrell Womack, Yanks lose Series on a blooper
2002: Add Giambi, are promptly ejected from the playoffs
2003: Biggest payroll in baseball (as usual), lose Series to the friggin Marlins
2004: Biggest choke in baseball history
    2005: Another mediocre first-round eviction
    2006: Another mediocre first-round eviction
    2007: Another mediocre first-round eviction
    2008: Jack squat

Yeah, the years 1996-2000 exist. Good for them. But since then, the Yanks = The team embodiment of Ryan Leaf.

Yeah. Despite what FOX wants you to think, the Yankees have been money down the toilet this decade.

Not as bad as the 60s but I'd say worse than the 80s because these teams, at least on paper are better than any of their 80s squads.

Did I miss something? Did Ryan Leaf make seven playoff appearances?

The Yankees are not a bust. Not this season. Not in the last seven years. Yes, they have overpaid for some players and the team's farm system is not ripe with stud prospects, but I would not consider them a flop.

Now, on the other hand, the Detroit Tigers this season...

If there were a salary cap they wouldn't nearly be such a disappointment.

Ryan Leaf = Tremendous waste of talent/money
New York Yankees = Tremendous waste of talent/money

This is incredibly stupid. King, please follow these instructions:

    1.) Unplug computer.
2.) Take it to the roof.
    3.) Drop it.

Somewhere in the vicinity of Georgia football.

Talk about an athletic franchise whose fans have outsized expectations that are never met . . . . . damn, those Bulldogs take the prize.

Good G-d, they have spent, what, a billion-plus dollars with nary a ring to show for it, even as their most hated rivals win twice? This is a remarkable achievement that can stand on its own merits in the annals of sport.

    FYI: The Yankees, not Georgia.

So you're King Cranium Maximus IV, huh?

I didn't know Kings Cranium Maximus I-III, but it just proves the adage that the heirs slowly get dumber than their predecessors.
