My mom took my brother and I to a doubleheader in late April one year. We could have counted the number of people there if we had chosen to take the time. Instead, we huddled under one blanket, it flurried, and we sat behind the third-base dugout so I could see Brook.

Then there was the time we went early for Meet the Indians day. Brook sat on the front end of a long table, and I was too shy to even have my picture taken with him. Cory Snyder was next, then Ed Wojna (why do I remember that). We got Steve Olin's autograph (my brother on a stuffed bear, me on a program). I still have that program. It makes me sad a little bit, the same reason I have to turn a game off anytime a submariner comes in.

Other than the Steve Olin part, that post is the epitome of Cleveland fail to which I was referring.

Because we're a throwaway society, spnited. Same way car leases have become popular n this country. "Why would I want to TAKE CARE of a vehicle when I can just rent a new one every three years?"

Seriously, how is that colleges can continue to play in the same place decade after decade after decade (Well, except Pitt. Thanks, you bag of dicks) but these corporate cry babies need a new home every 20 years or so? And its even worse with indoor sports it seems.
