Should the Yanks struggle in the next two series (at Mets and vs. Red Sox), do Joe Torre and Brian C

Brewers vs. NL Central = 17-8
Brewers vs. everybody else = 9-8 (and 3 of those wins were against the Nats, worst record in the major)

One week ago, tonight, the Brewers came to Shea with the best reocrd in the majors.. 8 games against Mets, Phils and Twins = 2-6.

    I rest my case.

Favorite statistical note of the night:

First time in Torre's 11+ seasons that Yankees have been 10 games out of first.
And it only gets worse from here.

Tomorrow: First time in Torre's 11+ seasons the Yankees have been 11 games out of first.
Sunday: First time in Torre's 11+ seasons the Yankees have been 12 games out of first.

    etc, etc

It's May (relatively small sample size) and we heard all this crap about the NL Central last year, and the division champs won the World Series....that's my case.

that the shittiest team since the '88 dodgers just happened to win it all? that doesn't seem like a good point. ;)

I know I broached the subject before, and was quickly told I was an idiot, but I don't see why the Yankees wouldn't/couldn't deal A-Rod at the deadline.

If they're still way the fuck out of it, he's the one guy they have that could actually bring back some quality players. There has to be a team out there that will gamble on him exercising his out clause and not end up costing them eleventybilliondollars over the next howevermany years.

And if you're the Yankees, you work under the assumption you could always resign him if you really want him back.
