This could have been avoided had the older couple decided to act like adults and go get security. If they had a problem with the guy, that's the correct course of action. You politely ask him to knock it off instead of cursing in the guys face and slapping him.
The old guy deserved to be thrown down the stairs. Had the roles been reversed, everyone would be losing their minds right now.

The second video here has some sound between the participants. Just past the 30-second mark you can hear the youngster dropping the F-bombs.

Fuck that douchebag. I'm glad the old man tried to take him out. Hopefully whatever judge or jury he's in front of throws any charges against him out of court.

The jagoffs taping it deserved to be punched, too.

Did the old guy accuse him of foot-faulting?

The best part is toward the end when a group of guys are trying to get at the jackass. He's holding onto the rail for dear life like Carlo Rizzi when Sonny Corleone was beating the shit out of him.

That said, security fail in the U.S. Open matter. Everyone could see the situation was escalating. Clearly douchebag was a douche and needed to go. There was ample time to escort him away and diffuse the situation, yet they let it fester.

I would hate to be an English cop on the night of a game. You know you're going to be dealing with a bunch of drunk blokes with most likely nothing going for them except their team.

It's tennis, noOn. The security guys weren't on high alert.

Barney Fife and friends were either dozing or ogling the ball girls.

Isn't there precedent for this sort of thing at majors? I remember a few clashes at the Aussie Open.

Regardless, though, anytime you have a lot of people and alcohol is being served, you better have someone to deal with these situations.

Am I reading it right that some on here feel it's acceptable to throw the old guy down? What are you, the same age as the douchebag punk? I bet you think it was OK for Pedro to slam Zimm to the ground, too.

There is a difference between keeping an old guy or a woman off you and shoving one over.

The "douchebag" showed incredible restraint when he was slapped by the woman the first time before the old man came at him.
So you wanted the younger guy to just let the old guy hammer away at him? No way. If an old guy took a run at me, I'd do the same thing.
