    Thurman Munson.

    That was a real crusher.

    I hit my knees and sobbed right there in front of the TV, and I'm not even a Yankees fan.

    That guy was just the real deal as a ballplayer and a leader by example.

    Unfortunately, I was not born when Elvis died, but with all the coverage, it seems like I was (maybe for other SJ posters, they feel the same)

    I had just turned 9, was watching The Brady Bunch when the news broke in.

    He had played in my hometown two months earlier.
