When did the Tea Party go straight?

It was jarring to see printdust's thread on Anything Goes in which he calls for revolution because "things are getting bad." We heard a lot of that a couple years ago, when the Tea Party was in its infancy. All the rallies where people brought guns and politicians talked about "Second Amendment solutions" seem like a distant memory now.

Some reasons, I think, for the relative calm:

    (1) Congressional elections occurred and some of the crazier candidates, namely O'Donnell and Angle, were refudiated.
    (2) Glenn Beck went off the air on FOX News.
    (3) Obama released his long-form birth certificate.
    (4) It's tiring to stay that pissed off for a lengthy amount of time.
    (5) Three years in, and the most dire predictions of a Muslim extremist shadow presidency with concentration camps for dissenters seem, to put it mildly, overblown.
