No one wrote about it for two weeks?

So the other two were men without hats? They could dance if they wanted. They could leave their friends behind. Because if they don't dance, then they are no friends of mine.

Thanks. I have that song stuck in my head now.

If you'll excuse me, I need to go find an ice pick and stab my ear drums.

Isn't this whole story really all about safety?

Safety as well as leaving your friends behind.

Then why did you post this, as if it had any relevance?

It was mentioned early and often on the Australian baseball player thread that suspect at large is the commonly accepted exception to the general rule. I even linked to the AP Stylebook entry stating as much.

Dick, as I explained, it looked odd to me. Nothing illicit or nefarious...just mentioning how it looked odd and out of place. Okay? Don't read into something that is not there.

I don't understand what was odd or out of place about it. What you actually said was: "(T)he journalist felt it necessary to mention the assailants were white." Indeed, he did. Because they were on the loose. What is odd or out of place about a mention, in that case? It is precisely the situation in which race is mentioned in a first-day story, as was indicated multiple times on the Australian baseball player thread.

We also learned from that thread that the media portrays minorities innocently and vilifies everyone else, especially white people, as part of The Narrative™. So, again, nothing odd or out of place about it.
