Haven't really watched the Wheel since '85 or so. Do you still buy stuff, and if you only have $124 left over you can guy a big ceramic dog for $86 and then just carry over the $38 to your account?

"You really like that guy, don't you?"
And all he could muster was, "What?"

I wonder what his new girlfriend thinks about Pat Sajak.

BD, what was the process? I've never seen information on how you try out for Wheel. What did they have you do?

And Xan, no, they haven't had the overpriced shopping spree for years, so the days of hearing "Yes, I'll take the ceramic hyena for $550, Pat" are long gone.

because there could be other e's, and you know you won't get the buzzer and lose control of the wheel. Buying an "e" in that situatiion could be a prudent thing to do.

I'll be in Culver City taping the show on Jan. 10. No idea of the air date yet, but I will update that when available.

to try out, I had to sign up on their Web site. Then it told me, since there are millions of wheel watchers who want to play, we'll contact you if we're interested.

About a year later, I got an e-mail saying they were holding auditions in Atlanta. So off I went.

There were about 75 people who showed up. Invitation only. After playing mock puzzles and going around the room, we had to take a five-minute quiz with semi completed puzzles. Then they whittled the crowd to 25. I made that cut.

Then afterwards they said they would send a letter within two weeks if they wanted me on. I got the letter Monday. Then got the call today.
