What's your mileage rate?

    26 cents a mile. At my old paper, it was 18 cents and gas was on the rise. When I asked the publisher if it could be adjusted because of climbing gas prices, his reply was, "Some papers in our company only get 16 cents a mile." Amazing! That company has several newspapers up for sale that are losing money, so they probably can't afford to pay any more. 26 may be low, but I'm thankful I'm not getting 18 cents anymore.
