What's up with Paxton?

I don't know where exactly to post this, but...

I currently work at two weeklies, running the sports section for both. I work a lot of hours, but since they're weeklies I don't have to work every night, which is nice. The pay is crap, of course, but it's more than I would've expected to earn without working at a daily.

I recently applied for a job at a paper I now know (after looking) to be owned by Paxton. I received a voicemail about the job tonight asking to speak with me. It's closer to home, which I know my wife would like. I don't know anything about the pay yet, but I remember seeing several posts on here in the past shredding that company.

So in a nutshell, what's up with them? How wary should I be?
