    APSportseditors.org.

But the thing is, there are so few papers/Web sites (and thus entries) in the largest circulation group (I want to say 30ish, maybe 40). That said, Dan is a helluva writer.

I'm not seeing how he did it, or I'm reading something wrong or simply blind.

He's not in columns over 250,000, and he's not in features over 250,000. He's in investigative, and he's in projects. What am I missing?

No reflection on Dan, one of my favorites. But I'm not seeing the five writing awards. Clarification, anyone?

Well, uh ... what's your point?

OK, thanks...Missed him in features and hadn't looked at breaking news and gamers. And I thought his possibilities were already less than five. My bad....Congrats to Dan, unless, of course, you hate the APSE contest and then, "Boy, what a loser."

    I'm assuming ESPN.com, CBSsports.com and SI.com do not compete?

Neither does AOL FanHouse, at least not this year. But that doesn't mean Dan still wouldn't have swept the awards. He's a fantastic reporter and writer.
Though here's something the judges might one day have to consider: web sites often have much later deadlines than newspapers, especially on the East coast. And web sites can make corrections long after the article has appeared.
