Slumdog Millionaire is first for sure. The Dark Knight, Wall-E, In Bruges and Ironman round out my top five. I still need to see a bunch of the latest releases so that list is very likely to change.

Haven't seen many movies this year, which is surprising...I probably saw every major film while working as projectionist at a 12-screen theater from 2005-07. From what I've seen, I've generally enjoyed in 2008, but there are plenty on top of my waiting list including The Wrestler, Benjamin Button, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Zach and Miri Make a Porno, and W.

Kung Fu Panda by a landslide.

Especially given that it was the only movie I saw in the theater last year.

I've only seen a handful of movies in the theater this year. Iron Man, Quantum of Solace, Incredible Hulk, The Dark Knight. Most I've downloaded and watched at home.

    Was Charlie Bartlett this year?

I'd put his seven films up against any director in Hollywood not named Scorsese.

I guess I'll go Marty first and Fincher second.

I would have to go with Dark Knight, but I really enjoyed Gran Torino.

Saw BB last night, and its tops in the House of Terrier for '08 (not that Cate Blanchett needs another Oscar, but put it this way...she'd have been a better choice than the two American vixens Brad has cavorted with the past 10 years or so). It may be challenged by Frost/Nixon if we get out to see it, though.
We don't get out to the thee-tah as much as we should, but:

    Benjamin Button: A
    Burn After Reading: A-
    21: B+
    Baby Mama: B+ (Mrs. T: C+)
    W: D

In defense of Jolie, she was in my favorite guilty pleasure of the year (Wanted) and was absolutely mesmerizing in Changeling.

    Blanchett is always great.

That's what you get with stupid movies like that. I refuse to watch almost any Will Ferrell move anymore because its stupid humor and the only reason you laugh is because it's so dumb you wonder how anyone thought of it.
