What's still taboo?

Dang it, we're trying to have a silly discussion, not a real one! ;)

Yeah, some things are taboo and should stay that way.

I wish that we, as a culture, were more comfortable with sex and less comfortable with violence. Not advocating censorship here, but the casual way in which we accept violence, particularly in TV and movies, has to be hurting us.

Good Christ, can we have a light-hearted discussion without the fucking martyr card getting played?

    Please?

And I'll go out on a limb and say that even hetero anal sex isn't a taboo any more, or at least not as much of one as it used to be.

The other thing that just isn't taboo any more? Going to the titty bar. Big group of my married friends went a couple weeks back. With their wives. Who bought them lap dances.

We are unbelievably puritanical about sex, but FAR too permissive about violence. It's really a shame.

Now, return to the silly. :)

Yeah, cause people with positive opinions on Christianity have been completely marginalized this decade.

    Indeed.
Chopping heads off is OK in movies.
    Giving head is not.

It really doesn't make sense to me. The violence a PG-13 movie can get away with is way more offensive and potentially damaging than the sex which would earn a movie an R rating.

Zeke, what's up with ladies going to strip clubs these days? Phony-lesbianism is totally acceptable now in most places, whether it's high school girls making out for dudes at parties, or college girls thinking it's "funny" to hit up the strip club. I just can't wrap my cock head around it.

    Dear God:

Why did you make my mom and dad meet in 1970 instead of 1980?

    Your friend,

When I watch movies with my "conservative" sister and her family, they'll be just casually enjoying the action as the on-screen violence is enough to turn my stomach and wonder what sort of poison will remain in my subconscious as a result of having seen it. I really think that ugly images are as toxic for the mind as literal poisons are for the body.

Then again, they'd probably bum out if they saw some of the porno I've seen. :D

Strippers offer far more insights into male behavior than my girlfriends can ever dream of doing (other than the one who's a stripper, but I digress).

I'm positive about Christianity, but not without acknowledging its warts, past and present. But many people confuse "acceptance" and "acceptance of proselytization".

There's a difference. I'm just fine with the former, not fine with the latter.

    A. What about violent sex?

    B. Strip clubs are not about "funny" or "fake lesbianism" to me. It's about going out, watching the guys I'm with, and getting some dances. It's a good time! Just get loaded before you go...they will rape you at the bar.
