Man did I love some Outfield in the 80s.
Imagine my reaction when I stumbled across this mashup — The Outfield and NWA.

If anyone had a copy of the Gray Album*, I really would like to give a listen. But the all knowing grasp of Paul McCartney and Jay-Z have scrubbed it from the interweb.

    * Danger Mouse mashed the White and Black albums together. The results was, reportedly, amazing.

"Playing The Field"--one of those half-assed, no-liner-notes greatest hits compilations record companies churn out to squeeze a few more cents out of a long-gone heritage act--got tons of play at the school newspaper office in 1995.

Great fucking CD. Those guys knew power pop.

Eric Byrnes' at-bat music is "Your Love" by the Outfield, which always cracks me up.

You should give a listen to some DANGERDOOM if you're into Danger Mouse.

And if you're into Top 40 mashups with old school music then you'd like Girl Talk.

Don't think I still have a copy of the Grey Album, but it was good. Wasn't as mind-blowing brilliant as some have said, but as a huge Beatles fan and having never heard of Danger Mouse, I still dug it.

The Outfield and the Fixx are the only two British 80s bands that had Top 5 hits here but never had a Top 40 hit in their home country.
