-- Golf majors ending with 36 holes on Saturday and no Sunday play.
-- Winter sports ending at least a month before the start of summer.
-- TV/radio broadcasters who aren't homers/looking to make a name for themselves with a goofy call.
-- Graphics-free TV screens during games.
    -- The glowing puck.

That said, I love the places that keep the long-time traditions and it makes their events stand out/be the best.

-- Wimbledon whites and no middle Sunday play.
-- The Masters (four minutes of commercials; no running on the grounds; pimento cheese sandwiches).
-- The Rose Bowl (for the most part) starting at 2 p.m. -- gasp! daylight -- on Jan. 1 (unless it's a Sunday, then Jan. 2).

Alabama-Tennessee always played on the 3rd Saturday in October as God intended.

There's at least one left: The Ralph in Orchard Park, NY.

    Continuing in the baseball vein:

    A 500-game winner.
    A three-inning save.
The number 42 (as soon as Rivera retires).

    - Two small-market teams in an NBA Finals (always seems to be Boston-LA ... funny how that works)
    - Sidney Crosby not crying
    - The biggest superstar in the history of his sport retiring in his prime to play another sport (and fail at it)

The anticipation for NBC's Baseball Game of the Week on Saturday

    The Finals on tape-delay

Before too long: major sporting events on broadcast TV.

For that matter, any sporting events on broadcast TV.

Past tense. The thread was titled what we'll never see AGAIN.

As for Kevin Love, he's good. First-team NBA? Still got a ways to go there.
