Maybe not a mnemonic per se, but: "Peter, Andrew, James and John; Phillip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas; Simon, Jude, James and Judas Ascariot."

    The 12 apostles.

When I was about 12, my dad (whose side of the family are good Catholics) decided me and my sister needed some churchin' up. Therefore, my folks enrolled us in a once-a-week catechism class after our regular (public) school for a couple of years. The second year, the nun who taught the class would recite the above list in a sing-songy cadence during every class. The whole catechism thing didn't really take and my mom finally talked my dad into not putting us in the class anymore. Years later, I'm not a very religious person at all, but if you ask me who the 12 apostles are, I will be able to recite that list in my sleep.

Another way to figure out the months is to count across your knuckles, starting from your left pinky. Every time you hit a knuckle, that month has 31 days.

    It's Judas Iscariot.
