Well, we did learn that rain on your wedding day is ironic.

The funny thing about that is, Hanson has actually turned into pretty cool guys. Heard them on Adam Carolla's podcast sometime last year and it was a good listen. I found myself liking them in spite of myself.

I'll buy that. Coincidentally, that's the year I graduated from high school.

I think there was a residual carryover with the Beatles' breakup and the deaths of Hendrix and Morrison coming within about a 15-month span in 1970-71.

The Stones, Who and Led Zeppelin all released monster albums in 1971, which helped to compensate.

Two songs from 1997 sum it up: "Sex and Candy" and "Gone Til November."

Gimme 2013, based solely on Macklemore, who set white rappers back about 30 years, and more and more of that EDM crap. Apparently I don't do enough drugs to listen to pop music anymore.

No way 1973 is in this discussion.

Compared to the 8-9 years which preceded it, 1973 pretty much sucked.

It did give us Dark Side of the Moon, two great Bruce albums, two great Elton John albums, a great Who Album, a great Lynard Skinnard album....

A very good Rolling Stones album... A Stevie Wonder album...

It was still a very good year.
