This is just another example of ESPN's East Coast bias

If everybody else is going to have earthquakes, it eliminates reasons not to move to the West Coast.

Felt it here in N.C., near Winston-Salem. House shook but no damage.

They're still playing in Williamsport, so everyone, go back to normal.

Strongest quake ever recorded in Virginia now?

But folks in St. Louis and Memphis are wondering if the New Madrid is next.

I live about an hour and a half southwest of Mineral. Felt the rumbling and had no idea what it was. My bobblehead collection was going crazy, but no real damage.

I live upstairs in a big house, the apartment separate from my landlords. Stunning thing was that his dog -- who goes crazy when anyone gets near the porch -- didn't make a sound during the whole event.

They should be. And the people in Virginia are probably assessing the damage in their area right now.

But the "end of the world" coverage of NYC is ridiculous. How about sending a crew out to where, you know, the fucking earthquake actually happened?

This. There's probably some damage to report.

People here (roughly 375 miles from the site) are claiming they felt it. I was outside from 1:30 to 2:30 and didn't feel anything.

About four-five years ago we had one here in the middle of the night. It shook the house and freaked the dog. I jumped out of bed thinking two cars had hit head on or something in my yard, looked out the windows, didn't see anything and went back to bed thinking I was dreaming. The next morning found out it was a quake.

Give 'em some time. It's out there a bit of a ways.
