Surprised this didn't get more buzz here....really ugly story, kids peeing brown from kidney distress. 13 go to the hospital.

Gregg Doyle (who has become one of my favorite tweeters, can't believe I just typed that but it's true) did a great job with this:

First day on the job here, first hour, the ME tells me a handful of local HS players are in the hospital. They and others had what the Iowa players had, plus compartment syndrome.

There's probably HR paperwork I never got around to filling out. What a first day/hour/week/month.

Just shared this story with my wife, who's a registered nurse. As soon as I said "rhabdomyolysis" she said, "They're on drugs."

That was my thought too. The players were in different workout groups and would have been doing different lifts since they didn't all play the same position. My guess is they were using some kind of supplement the trainers didn't know about.

    Ding, ding, ding.

I want to know what Doyle has to say about it when this comes out. Who does he think should be fired then?
