    Agree with your point, but who knew who Lucas Glover was before a few weeks ago? Or Lee Janzen before Baltusrol in '93? Or Retief Goosen before Southern Hills in '01?

    I doubt it. If Wie made the same putt, it probably would have. Interviews with a translator certainly hurt, but really, where's the star appeal on the LPGA Tour that would make it lead Sportscenter or be the centerpiece item in a newspaper without a local angle?

    I like watching golf, I love covering it (including women's golf), but I didn't think enough of my readers cared about that event to even run it on the front (though, in fairness, I only had one national story - Gatti's wife being accused of murder - on the front).
