What new TV shows are worth watching?

OK, so I'm addicted to Pushing Daisies. Generally watch it on Tivo. Finally saw last week's just now...and lo and behold...A TMBG RECKONING!

I'm sitting there, and long story short, Kristen Chenowith said "Build a little birdhouse in your soul" and I loved it. Then, after the commercial, they were following a carrier pigeon (don't ask) and singing "birdhouse" as they drove.

    Wheeee!

I really love "Pushing Daisies." And speaking of finding your favorite bands, someone at NBC is a New Pornographers fan. Their songs have already popped up on "Chuck" and "Life" this season.

I don't watch either of those. But I love Chi McBride in the Pushing Daisies role. If we're supposed to like Olive? I don't.

JAG, while you're here - what did you think of Dexter? Ever watch it?

I got through the first disc of season 1. At Blockbuster, it's split up into three discs. So I saw the first 4-5 episodes (loved it) and will get the second disc when I return "Green Street Hooligans" which I'll either watch tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks to those of you who recommended it. I also turned a friend on to it.

IJAG, I don't think we're supposed to like Olive. Empathize with her unrequited love problem, maybe, but not like her. And McBride is, as usual, excellent. Also, of the two shows I mentioned, I can't recommend "Life" highly enough. My favorite new show of the season.

I haven't seen any of Dexter yet because I wanted to read the books first. I'm taking the first one on a long flight next week, very excited about it.

Life got completely shredded in the reviews I saw. I'm glad someone likes it. I might try to catch up with it.

Glad you liked it. We're 5 episodes into Season 2 and it's still very good.

Season 1 of Californication just ended last night. Very good show as well. Look for the repeats or watch for the DVDs when it comes out.

I added only Reaper to my list and I'm enjoying it. Let's see what shows up at midseason (especially considering a writer's strike is imminent).

Journeyman is the only new one I'm hooked on, but, damn, does Chenoweth look nice on Daisies.

Wow, really? I didn't see a single bad review. The L.A. Times gave it the "if you only watch one new show" designation. Good stuff.

And lantaur, I'm enjoying Reaper, too. Mindless fun.

N_W, I'll give you a hint: The date ends with "2008."
