In my final years in journalism, I remember management praising the Internet as a vehicle for Everyman as Journalist and how we professionals could learn a thing or two from The Public. Maybe, this editor said, they could cover a high school football game as well as you can. Maybe better.
This is the perfect example of why that logic is absurd.
