    By saying a loss puts you into all-time infamy, you ARE taking into account the rest of the series.

    Otherwise it's just an ass-whipping with a chance to go to the World Series on the line and wouldn't belong in the discussion with Sunday.

    You have to take the whole series into account for Game 7 to have any real meaning.

    You're setting up a strawman. By diminishing the Red Sox feat (just a win in Game 7, not the series), your argument by design props up the one-game Super Bowl. It's a flawed argument.

    We can take into account the Patriots' 19-0 record, but not that NY led 3-0 in the series? Hmm.
