What is the best band to come out since 2000?

I don't want to completely hijack the Elvis thread, which is a really good one...

The Beastie Boys have been around for more than 20 years, Pearl Jam has been around for 17, Metallica at least 25, U2 more than 30, Van Halen about 30...

Who are the best this decade or since 2000? The Killers? White Stripes?

I would vote for White Stripes or Linkin Park, since I have every CD of both.

The White Stripes or The Black Keys are T1, and My Morning Jacket and Spoon are T3.

Oneida's been one of the most consistant bands that started after 2000. If yer into Prog-Drone-Devo stuff.
Agree on Spoon and My Morning Jacket.
Spoon was one of the best live shows I saw since 2000

Angels and Airwaves (only one CD)

There are more, I'm sure, but I don't have my catalogue in front of me.

What year did Linkin Park start? I guess now that I think about it, 2000-01 is probably about right...

Many of these bands have been around since the 1990s, but most people found them after 2000.

But come on people, Linkin Park?

I don't know who any of these groups are.

As I think back on the last 10 years, I'm straining to come up with any mainstream act which actually had something unique to say.

Within the past two years, I've thought the dance punk band
out of Brazil has put out some brilliant work, but other than that I can't think of a thing.

    :'( :'(

It's a good question...I don't listen to much modern music and would much rather play '60-'80 rock even though I'm only 20. Some of my favorite bands right now are Bayside, Alter Bridge, and The Format (broke up last month).

I discovered The Format on eMusic. Good, catchy pop tunes.

The Stripes formed in '97, and Spoon has been around even longer. That said, I'll go with The Arcade Fire, Mars Volta and Arctic Monkeys.
