    I read but didn't verify these stats. They seem to be correct.

    During the last decade, where participation in the stock market by the population is at an all time high and frankly unable to go higher....the S&P is BELOW where it was in June of 1998....ten years ago.

    You lost your butt to treasuries if you went "all in" at the bottom of the LTCM crash.

    You really lost your ass is you dollar cost averaged for the last decade (like a good 401ker has been instructed to do).

    "stocks out perform over the long run"
    "housing prices always rise"
    "the market crashed monday so we have to pass this bill"
    "subprime is contained"
    "our economy is fundamentally strong"
    "we will crash without this bill"

    Are there any TRUE statements out there from those in charge?
