    Aside from whether it was ethically questionable, I thought the story just plain sucked.

    What was its point? He had all that access and the best he could do was relay some observations with little context or original thought? That's incredibly weak and a total waste of an opportunity.
     
  2. Is it really any different, though, from the cellphone pics and video submitted by "citizen journalists" that are becoming common in newscasts / sportscasts

    I know Markazi had "inside the ropes" access, but did he report on anything that didn't happen in public?

    He recounts what happened in a restaurant, a nightclub, and walking the casino floor.

    All of this could have been observed by anyone. Does that make a difference?

    I'm sure he was able to expense some or all of that, no small detail on the Vegas club scene.
