What do you NEVER skimp on?

This is a slight variation of the refill/not refill post...

At the Sconnie household, there are three things you will NEVER find...

Non-JIF peanut butter

Non-Charmin toilet paper

Non-Heinz ketchup

Are there any other products where you MUST have a certain brand?

 

Non-Kraft American sliced cheese.

 

attractive women. and cheese. i refuse to eat sliced american cheese.

 

Non-Charmin with Aloe toilet paper... my butt is worth it.

 

Agreed about toilet paper. I never compromise on it, no matter how poor I am.

Tortilla chips. It's Tostitos or bust.

I also have a weird thing about my shampoo. I've been using the same kind for over 20 years, and last year they changed the formula, and it's just not the same. I drove around buying up the old stuff before it disappeared, and I have like 15 bottles of it.

And steak. If you're going to have a steak, have a good one. Otherwise you're sitting there eating some bland piece of flank and wishing you were eating a real steak.

 

Don't get off-brand frozen burger patties. They cook up fail. But for most everything else, store brands are perfectly fine and hellaciously less expensive.

 

I don't often skimp on beer. Maybe when I'm having a lot of people over, or slamming a few before a softball game or something, but almost no matter when else -- in a bar, by myself, with a few friends -- I'll splurge.

 

Brand isn't really an issue with me... the aloe vera in the paper? Non-negotiable.
