That Terrell Davis has a bright future.

That Brett Favre ought to be packing it in soon.

Other things I thought in 1998...

Wow, I can't wait for the Star Wars prequels, they're going to be great!

I'm two years out of college and at a major daily paper. I'm set for life in journalism!

I'm really dreading my 25th birthday because I'm now closer to 30 than 20.

Cell phone? Hah, I wouldn't even want a pager, where my bosses could force me to stay in touch with them 24/7. When I'm off work, I'm off.

It's amazing that 35 years after the JFK thing that nothing has leaked from the conspiracy.

(As for the baseball part: I do recall watching McGwire/Sosa and thinking back to Thomas Boswell getting excoriated by many, including Tony LaRussa, for his suggestion -- in 1988, I think -- that the Bash Bros. had been using steroids. I also distinctly recall thinking that MLB pitching really sucked for how many gopher balls were being thrown.)

I can't believe this dot.com start-up is offering all of these stock options. I can get rich!

I'd forgotten that the lockout meant Jordan didn't retire until January. I was and still am a big fan of Duncan.

Matt Geiger is the legit star center the Sixers have been looking for since trading Moses.

The Colts made a bad call by taking the little daddy's boy with the #1 pick, and the Chargers are set up nicely for the future as a result.

Whenever Ricky Martin dies, it will definitely be worthy of Page 1A.
