What did I miss?

There is a new bar in Alpine, though I didn't catch the name of it, which is on the road in from Fort Davis, before you turn left to go to downtown. It is by the steakhouse. It looked pretty cool and we are going to hit it up the next time we are down there.
I also like the Icehouse - an outdoor bar in the middle of downtown.

 

'Gola, try the brew pub inside the Holland Hotel. A Bavarian braumeister runs the joint. He knows what he's doing. Be damn sure neither you nor anyone who's there with you drives afterwards. The beers there don't taste very strong, but they will knock you on your ass.

The fake English pub in Fort Davis isn't bad, either. Nothing beats a day of swimming at Balmorhea followed by a drive through the Davis Mountains and watching the sun set over the foothills with a pint of bitter in hand.

 

It sure seems that way.

 

I have done this many times since I moved here and I agree it is one of the greatest things in the world.

In West Texas, sometimes jacking is all you can do.

 

I hear it is a good pool hall. Not as good as Woody's, though.
