What Are Your Ideal Ballpark Dimensions?

  1. 310L, 379 LC, 389C, 420 RC, 302R, with a 37 foot tall wall in left and a pole some might call irritating in right.

    I think what Veeck did in the minor leagues was to put a higher fence up when the visitor was at bat and put the fence to a regular height when his team was up. There wasn't anything against it in the rules when he did it, but they pretty much outlawed it pretty quick.

    Charles Finley tried to do a couple of stunts like that, like put a fence up 296 feet down the right field line of Kansas City's Municipal Stadium because he complained about the Yankees unfair advantage. When league officials told him any new fence had to be at least 325 feet down the line, he put a fence up which was 325 down the line but put a fence which angled in to a couple of feet in fair territory it was 296 feet in right feet. It's tough to describe, but I have seen pictures. That too was ended pretty quickly

    One of thethings that makes baseball so good is that no two ballparks are alike. Unlike football or basketball or hockey.
