Met Mrs Fly and some friends post-work yesterday afternoon at one of our semi-local taprooms, Dragonmead. Split a Nagelweis with her, and then had a decent dunkel. The two of us headed to a spot we'd never been but heard good things about, Baffin. Despite having to spend $5 to park (because they share a lot with a big Irish-themed restaurant/bar next door), we really enjoyed the four beers we had. Solid DIPA featuring Mosaic hops (Double Mosaic, Double Mo Problems), doppelbock was really caramel-malt forward and tasty (2bock Shakur), rum-barrel aged porter was nice for a style I'm not a fan of (Young, Dumb and Full of RUM) and a really good pale with mango (Mango Unchained). It's a small operation, no distribution so on-premises only. Worth a stop if you're ever in the east burbs of the Motor City.

Envy, a smooth chicory stout from Demented Brewing Co in Middlesex, NJ. Only 5.5 %, it is very crushable and comes in a 32 oz oil can.
