What T_B_F said. I can't believe some of the responses here.

I just don't get too indignant about the things I'm supposed to get indignant about.

Some Ivy Leaguers booed a military veteran? Knock me over with a feather.

    And Columbia at that ...

The irony is that the veteran was gay.

Wasn't really referring to your response, DW.

Columbia is too small to be it's own country, like it wants to be, and too large to be an
insane asylum, which it should be.

Huh? Does his wife (pictured with him in the linked story) know about this?

She is a beard. A few months back same soldier spoke at a Columbia rally in support of repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" and was cheered.

A few college kids heckling a veteran is not good. But is it worse than being Swift Boated?

Still unemployed Mike Leach would probably say no.

They weren't booing his service, as far as I can tell. They were booing what, quite frankly, was a pretty weak statement, especially given that he's a Columbia student. He ought to be able to do better than "There are bad men out there plotting to kill you," which even if it wasn't remarkably simplistic is barely related to the subject at hand in the first place.

As soon as DADT goes bye-bye, the Ivy League schools can STFU in regards to recruiting on campus.

Which they will. Why wouldn't they? That's the only issue. When the issue is resolved, they won't ban recruiters any more.
