Gas has gone down 30 cents in my parts.

Weird how people 1,000 miles from Houston are in gas lines, while folks in Conroe and Huntsville are practically taking baths in the stuff, two weeks after Ike.

Didn't the feds suspend all the gas formulation rules?

Never, I repeat, never get off at the Jimmy Carter Blvd. exits looking for gas. You are asking for grief.

Is that a good place to get your ass kicked?

Actually, you can get your asked kicked pretty well on JCB at any of those spots. I have never encountered any problems like that. Are you speaking from first-hand experience or something?
I was referring to finding a gas station.

I'm hearing that in Alabama, the stations that are open are imposing a $40 limit, cash only.

As far as greater Birmingham is concerned, patently false.

So, I got gas for $3.39 today. Since the problems in the South are Bush's fault, to whom should I write a thank-you note for the low prices in my neighborhood?

I used to work over there when I worked for the mag. After Katrina, there was one station where I paid just over $6 for gas. I didn't have a choice, because most of them were out and I would not have made it all the way to Woodstock. It still made me angry though.
