    Just saw this on Yahoo.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_amish_newspaper;_ylt=AgkdpADNc1M5kx9c8ILtaRwZ.3QA;_ylu=X3oDMTJsampjMWF2BGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMDkwODE3L3VzX2FtaXNoX25ld3NwYXBlcgRjcG9zAzcEcG9zAzcEc2VjA3luX3RvcF9zdG9yaWVzBHNsawNhbWlzaG5ld3NwYXA-

Apparently, an Amish community has a newspaper with over 20K subscribers from across the US and Canada. A big reason for their success? They refuse to have a web site.

Question: How do the Amish folks print their newspaper if they're against things like electricity?

There are different sects of Amish people. Some us electricity. Some don't.

In Michigan there are some Amish who are primitive. Others use motorized tractors to get work done on farms, some use cars and fridges to get by, but not televisions or stereos or other luxury items.

Well, as long as you have a readership base that can't go online for religious reasons, you've got a print business plan!

That's the only paper I take, and it's a bitch to keep up with my Fantasy Football League, I tell you.

You know, there WERE newspapers before Edison. :D

But I don't actually know the answer to the question. I'd imagine it's a pain in the ass.

Key words: they're looking to add reporters. And the staff's not Amish.

And forget Twittering. What's not to like?

I'd be down with half of that. No effing beets, though.
