That is not an unreasonable assumption considering regular-season NFL games routinely beat postseason baseball in the ratings.

Vontaze Burfict fined $75K for unnecessary roughness

The NFL fined Vontaze Burfict $75,000 for stomping on the ankle of LeGarrette Blount Sunday, but did not suspend him. The league office continues to show no consistency at all regarding player discipline. It was a malicious act intended to hurt another player and it was carried out by a repeat offender. How does that not warrant a suspension?

In Goodall's tiny mind, Burfict doesn't attempt to show him up personally. So he gets the light sentence.

It's not like he deflated a football or destroyed a cellphone.

Or lied to league investigators. Or took any other actions to obstruct an investigation

Maybe that was why Burfict got away with this one. He stepped on one of the Patriots and the league is clearly out to get them.

NBC's triumphant press release doesn't bother to note the difference between a broadcast network, available in all homes by law, and cable outlets like B plus level TBS and D plus level FoxSports 1.
