I've given up on there ever being a playoff. Hasn't there already been three or four "perfect storms?"

We've had teams that didn't win their conference playing for national titles. We've had an unbeaten SEC team not playing for a national title. We've had a boatload of one-loss teams duking it out for the right to play.

I'm not sure what else could possibly happen that hasn't already.

Andy Dufresne did not dig that tunnel with his rock hammer in one year.

And something tells me crawling through five football fields of shit will be easier than getting a college football playoff approved.

    Not questioning that statement.

I'll say this much -- the Canes whipping up on Texas A&M made that 51-13 rout look a little better nowm and who's to say they don't continue with that momentum and finish somewhere in the top 25.

Texas A&M has some serious work to do to get ahead of OU, Air Raid and the 'Horns. Well ... maaaybe if Texas doesn't wake up. If Miami and Fresno State can attack A&M's defense, Air Raid and Mike Leach can find a hole or five.

  7. Because LSU and Florida might be the best two teams in the country at that point. Hell, last year they were the best two teams in the country when the season ended. Michigan and Ohio State were only perceived to be the best two teams at one point, an assumption clearly proven wrong by season's end.

The rematch was a secondary argument, albeit one that got a lot of play. The main point was the Big Ten was overrated, which we're seeing even more of this year, and its two best teams overrated for most of last season.

The Sand Aggies get Texas A&M in Lubbock this year too. Tech has owned A&M there going back to the Spike Dykes days.

So you want to see them play three times in one year? Because that's the scenario we'd be looking at. No thanks.

It'll be USC and either OU or the winner of the SEC championship game in the final. We won't have UF-LSU III.

    Mark this down....

OU @ Tulsa will be a lot closer than people think.

The line is 23. Actually, it is close for a Tulsa/OU game.
