That is usually my thought when I listen to him as well, that he's holding back the negative because he doesn't want to step on the wrong toes.

Not many commentators do anymore, it seems. I hardly ever hear any critical talk of anyone.

Jaguars beat the Texans 27-20 to complete the season sweep.

Jacksonville — which now has more wins than Houston, Minnesota, Atlanta, Tampa Bay and Washington — might be playing itself out of a Top 5 pick.

One of my favorite stats this year: Houston Astros ended the season with 15 straight losses, recording their last victory on Friday, Sept. 13.

The Texans have lost 11 straight, recording their last victory on Sunday, Sept. 15.

It's all coming full circle for the Texans, who get the #1 pick back just in time to draft Derek Carr.

Congratulations, Texans, you just go swept by a team about half of us thought as recently as a month might go winless.

Congratulations, Jaguars, you have royally screwed yourself out of the top draft pick. Hope those four wins at least result in an increase in attendance.

Shoot, the Jaguars might be making a late playoff push. :D
They are still mathematically alive -- two out with three to play, and three winnable games (Buffalo, Tennessee, at Indy) left on the schedule. They also have the entire AFC between them and the six-seed, but they are still alive.

Speaking of stats and random facts, heading into tonight's game the Texans and Jags would've had the Nos. 1 and 3 picks, respectively, if the season ended then. Both were also still mathematically alive for a playoff berth.

Would be 9-4 and not 4-9 if they'd signed Tebow.

With all due respect, this is asinine. You play to win the game. The Jags had not won a home game this season until last night. Its December 5th. You think the owner wants what little fans they have walking out of the stadium with a loss every game? Most of the players do not have guarantees beyond this season. They get graded on every play in game film. The head coach, Gus Bradley, had not won a game as an NFL head coach until November. Do you think he wants to roll over?

Stop with the rolling over for an extra draft position.

Well put, Cran. Does anyone really think these Jaguars players, most of whom are marginal NFL players, care about the long-term health of the franchise? Or would they rather play well enough to keep their jobs, which may cause them to win a couple games and cost them a draft position or two?
