ESPN just announces that Bobby Bowden is set to announce his retirement tomorrow.

Who ventured to predict, back on this board in August, that the Oregon/OSU game would determine a Rose Bowl participant?

Consistently amazing how things unfold, ain't it?

While this move was overdue, part of me is a little sad that Bowden was forced out.

Maybe Bowden will take the Louisville job. He couldn't be any worse than Kragthorpe.

At some point the speculation had to affect recruiting. Name the field after him, give Bobby a job in the athletic department, maybe have him make some recruiting calls if it would help and move forward.

So now that JoePa has outlasted Bowden, he can coach one more season, hit 400 wins and retire.
    GUARANTEED!

I think the field might already be named after him.

Correct, it's named Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium.
