could happen. i do think nebraska plays grade-a defense on texas, though, even in a loss. gonna be smash-mouth.

i'd love to see the beavs in pasadena. i remember when they were the pac-10 version of rutgers circa the '80s.

I'm hoping for payback for last year - but having moved to the state when the Beavers were putrid (they ran the option in the Pac 10), seeing Oregon State play with the Rose Bowl on the line for the second straight year is unfathomable. The program always ranks in the bottom third of the conference by recruiting gurus and just seems to have hit a nice groove. Schedule tough early season games and get better every week. I'm hoping Riley's memories of his San Diego misadventure in the NFL keep him in Corvallis for 20 more years.

I like Alabama, Texas & Oregon. Little Nicky will get the job done, Nebraska won't score enough points to beat Texas.

The Gators will roll the Tide.
The Ducks will lick the Beavers.
The Longhorns will peel the Huskers.
The Bearcats will claw the Panthers.
The Cougars will maul the Pirates.
The Mountaineers will slay the Scarlet Knights.
The Broncos will buck the Aggies.
The Chippewas will put an arrow through the heart of the Bobcats
The Yellow Jackets will sting the Tigers

I'm an Oregon grad, so it's pretty clear where my loyalty lies... but I have a soft spot in my heart for the Pettibone era for the Beavs, running the triple option. I was working in Eugene and shot most of OSU's home games back then. It seemed like they could hang with anyone in the country.. and lose by a touchdown. And if they were down by more than a touchdown you knew the game was over, because they could never score enough to catch up. Any drive took at least 10 minutes.

Back then the Oregon rivalry was greater with Washington, since Oregon State was so godawful. That's changed a bit.
